Hawken

Hawken is a player-versus-player, first-person shooter game developed by start-up company, Adhesive Games. Currently free-to-play online, it is available for PC only.

At E3 2012, Hawken was nominated for over 20 awards and won 10 including:

Game Design

As a designer, I created new mechs from concept to release. Most notably the Incinerator, touted as having "the best flow out of any c class mech" and "played more often than any other heavy mech" by the Hawken community.

Work with each new mech entailed designing a system of three primary weapons, one secondary weapon, a special ability, and a featured item. Upon approval of the initial concept, I worked with programmers, artists, and quality assurance throughout the development process, analyzing feedback, and iterating as necessary.

Along with mech design, I also administered database content across the development, testing, and live branches; fixed map collision; and helped streamline mech development by creating a template for mech creation.

Writing

Much of my work also included writing menu text and lore. Amongst the lore contributors, my work has been recognized as a favorite among the Hawken community.

In addition text and lore I also scripted voice over for mech mechanics videos, as well as edited the tutorial walkthrough.

Production & QA

Outside of design and writing, I also managed various aspects of Production, Release, and Quality Assurance. These roles included managing patch release, preparing patch notes, coordinating company playtests, and directing both onsite and offsite Quality Assurance teams in testing priorities.
